Curtain Measure

Measuring the curtain width

Measure the width of the track or pole using a steel tape.

a) Curtain Tracks measure from end to end of the track.

b) Curtain Poles measure between the decorative ends.

this will give you your track or pole width

Measuring the curtain drop

Measure the drop using a steel tape

a) Curtain tracks measure from the eye of the glider to the finish point.

b) Eyelet Heading Pole measure from the top of the pole to finish point and add 3cm

Take 3 measurements from the Pole or Track to the finish point and use the shortest to the finish point.

The finish point for the floor is 1 cm above the floor

The finish point for the sill is 1cm above the sill

The finish point below the sill is 15-20 cm or 2cm above the radiator

Curtain Care

Hanging Curtains
Securely knot together the three draw cords
at one side of each curtain or valance.
Then, from the opposite side, pull the three cords
at the same time to gather the curtain.
Gather the curtain into even pleats until the required width is reached.
Tie off the cords but do not cut the excess
as the curtain will need to be ungathered for cleaning.
Tuck the loose cords behind the heading tape.
Next, decide which row of hook pockets to use.
To conceal your rail use the bottom row.
To show the rail or pole use the top row.
Insert a hook at each end of the tape
and then approximately 10 cm (4 inch) apart
across the width of the curtain.

Ironing Curtains
All curtains and valances (except velvet) can be lightly ironed with a warm iron.
Steam or excessive pressure or temperature should be avoided as theses can stretch or shrink the fabric.

Cleaning your Curtains
Cleaning ready-made curtains
Before cleaning, remove all curtain hooks, untie the draw cords at one end and stretch the curtain out flat.
Please refer to the label in each curtain or valance for cleaning instructions.
Velvets and all lined or fringed products must always be dry cleaned.
Curtains should be re-hung as soon as possible after cleaning.

Curtain Guide

Ready Made Curtains Size guide
Curtains come in pairs i.e two curtains in each pack.
You require nearly double the width of door/window for good gathering,
For wide windows you may need 2 pairs or preferably buy made to measure.
First measurement is the width ,second is drop for in between drops choose the next size up.

Use your track width measurement as a guide to match as closely
as possible to the first figure in the column below
this will give you double fullness.

The Second figure is the drop.

For wider windows if using Ready Made Curtains
you will need more than one pair of curtains.
